ENERGY LEVEL 56-60: LOATHING
Loathing is a strong feeling of disgust or intense dislike. It goes beyond simple annoyance or anger. It’s a deep emotional rejection, where something or someone feels not just unpleasant—but unbearable. Loathing often comes with harsh judgments. It can be directed at people, ideas, behaviors, or even parts of ourselves. It creates distance and separation. We want to avoid, push away, or even destroy what we loathe. This emotion can arise from fear, betrayal, or moral outrage. Sometimes it’s learned from others—other times it’s shaped by personal experience. Left unchecked, loathing can turn into hatred or cruelty. People feeling loathing often see others as less than human. It blinds us to connection, understanding, and compassion. It can feed cycles of blame, violence, and shame. At its root, loathing is a defense mechanism. It protects us from what feels threatening—but it can also trap us in negativity and close our hearts. To move beyond loathing, we need awareness, empathy, and the willingness to understand what’s behind the feeling.
